About

Dr Iryna Ptashnyk is the Secretary of the Security Expert Centre. She defended her PhD thesis and obtained her degree at the Law Institute of the Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University. Her research thesis was titled “Civil legal regulation of organ transplantation in Ukraine.”Dr. Ptashnyk was also a fellow of the Open Society Foundation, and she obtained an LL.M diploma at the Riga Graduate School of Law and completed studies at the Nansen Dialogue Center as part of the International Summer School at the University of Oslo. Dr. Ptashnyk was a member of the European Law Student Association of Ukraine in Kyiv and is a member of the Ukrainian Bar Association. She served as a team-leader of the research project “Modern armed conflicts.”

 

Dr Ptashnyk has co-authored the following books: Features of the implementation of international and national legislation on nuclear weapons, War crimes: the criminal, criminalistical and criminological characteristics, Protecting the rights and freedoms of humans and citizens in the occupied territories of Ukraine: problems of constitutional and legal regulation, and the research project “Modern armed conflicts.”
