This tribute will bring a tear to your eye, bible.
Khloe Kardashian penned a moving message on social media in honor of her son Tatum Thompson's first birthday, sharing the note alongside adorable photos from throughout the last year.
"Happy birthday, my sweet son!" The Good American founder, who shares Tatum and 5-year-old daughter True with ex Tristan Thompson, began her July 28 post. "I am a firm believer in that God gives you what you need and I needed you. God knew my heart needed you. I needed a love only you could give me. I needed my son."
"I am so proud to be your mommy," the 39-year-old continued. "So proud of your beautiful, gentle, loving, infectious spirit. You light up every single room. There's no denying that Everyone smiles when they look at you! Especially True. she is so proud to call you hers."
Khloe also noted show True has stepped into her role as big sister over the last year.
"Tatum, You have changed mine and True's lives forever," she added. "We both needed you. I knew she would be a fantastic, loving older sister, but I don't think I ever could've imagined the love and bond you guys already have."
"I cannot believe you are already one," Khloe finished her tribute. "Happy first birthday my sweet sweet baby."
Khloe and Tristan welcomed Tatum via surrogate in August 2022. Their baby boy was conceived in November 2021, not long before Khloe learned that Tristan had cheated on her with Maralee Nichols, who gave birth to his son Theo the following month. Khloe and Tristan—who is also dad to Prince, 6, with ex Jordan Craig—split shortly after the news broke, with The Kardashians detailing their journey to a friendly coparenting relationship.
Though the reality star has largely kept Tatum off her social media—and didn't share his name until May 2023—Khloe has gotten candid about the differences she's experienced when it came to welcoming her first and second children.
"When you compare it, between True and him, it's a very different experience," Khloe said in the June 8 episode of the Hulu reality series. "Like, the connection."
She added, "Like with True, it took me a couple days to be like, 'OK, this is my daughter,' and I was super into it—but just days... But with him, it's taken me, like, months. I love him and I love kids, but I definitely still don't have that complete bond. But you know, so many say it takes time."
But if her posts are any indication, the mother and son are feeling the love more than ever. Keep reading for all of baby Tatum's cutest moments.
